Bali - beach, market, cooking class
Last monday we exited the plane in a wonderful humid, warm air. It's so great to be in a hot place again! :) After we found our driver, we went through the whole island to get to pemuteran, the place, where we would spend our holidays.
The ocean is beautiful and we enjoy it a lot to snorkel and see all the corals and fishes, close to the beach.
We visit the market every few days. It is in a village, which is close by, but there are no tourists. That makes our trips very exciting, especially communication is sometimes a little bit hard. :)
Margie and Ian advised us to do a cooking class, because they enjoyed to learn how to cook typical balinese dishes. So we did - two days ago. First we went to the maket to by ingrediens, we would need. Since we went earlier than usually (6 am), there were many stalls, which we didn't see before.
This kitchen wouldn't be allowed in Europe, neighter in australia. We are also quite sure we are the first tourists who booked a cooking class in this restaurant, but it was so much fun! First the cook and his help were very hesitating about letting us do something, but after a while they got used to have us in the kitchen and showed us how to cook, to fry and to deep fry balinese way whithout many tools. Even thouh the spices were very simular, the dishes tasted very different.
Finally we got a HUGE lunch, far too much. We had the most of it packed, so we could eat it for dinner.
